Lessons normally take place over the course of two consecutive hours, at a time of mutual convenience. Swahili reading, writing, speaking, and aural comprehension skills are developed through comprehensive lessons that incorporate Swahili culture.
Mwalimu Jecha will adapt the structure and content of lessons according to the knowledge of the Swahili learner.
Homestay with Zanzibari family: Mwalimu Jecha is also able to arrange a homestay with a local Zanzibari family which is accustomed to hosting students from abroad. He asks for a nominal 10 dollar fee, payable on arrival in Zanzibar, to compensate him for his efforts in arranging the homestay. The cost of a homestay ranges from $25 US/day (full board), but all such payments are made directly to the family.
